CBMT Courses

Requirements CBMT: Grade 12 & Maths & Science + N2 Motor Mechanics. Students are required to write exams & do practical’s.

Subject area: Level 1-4
Each Level covers topics (Focus areas).
These are covered in various manuals per level. Outcomes are set for each Level as prescribed by CBMT.

Please note that students are required to purchase CBMT manuals. List will be provided (MERSETA).
Note: Steven is responsible for training and testing of students.

KATS: Introduction

KATS functionally focuses its strategy and business plan in the KwaZulu-Natal Region. It is responsible for automotive training which delivers training services to its customer base in this Region.

The business strategy is in accordance with the company’s vision and mission. We strive to become the preferred automotive training service provider to our customers by ensuring that students are trained properly and can apply their knowledge in the industry

KATS: Accreditation (MERSETA)

KATS is an Assessment Centre. We assess students who have met the requirement as prescribed by the Department of Labour & MERSETA.

We are available to evaluate students to see if they meet the requirements in terms of CBMT (Level 1 to 4).

We provide training in terms of Section 28 (Trade test – Dept. of Labour & MERSETA).(

KATS: Abstract: Steven Meyer

Steven Meyer has been actively involved in the Motor industry for more than 25 years.
  • He has obtained the following licenses:
  • Light vehicle – Code 08.
  • Advanced driving certificate Code 08 (Certificate No: 930000) –12/1/1993.
  • Heavy duty (Extra heavy) Code 14.
  • Heavy duty driver conversion Code 14 (Certificate No: 920204)
  • Public Drivers Permit (PDP) – Dangerous Goods/ Goods /Passengers.
  • As part of his career he spent many years educating mechanics preparing them for the M.I.T.B. pre-trade test for petrol, diesel, auto electrical, wheel alignment, fuel injection, electronics, etc.
  • He has completed many courses such as the Instructors Course: Train the Trainer, Finance For Non-Financial Managers, Trade tested in Petrol & Diesel.
    He has completed his Bachelors Degree: Associate of Biblical studies.
    On a lighter note he flies Helicopters (Pilot Licence: No 0271054058)
  • In 2005, the KATS management has been providing automotive training in the KwaZulu-Natal market place. The primary challenges are to address and overcome the shortages of qualified automotive mechanics .
